Archive material and source history
Pedro Shobby formed in Rio de Janeiro around 1982, playing what was described as experimental rock in the city's underground clubs. Their early shows didn't always connect, but they kept at it, building a following through live performances. In 2004 they put out a self-titled debut album that got some attention nationally.
Their song "Vozes" came out in 2006 and became their most recognizable track. The band at that point included Pedro Paulo Munhoz on vocals and guitar, Marcelo "Mosquito" Munhoz on drums, and Eduardo "Tuba" Monteiro on bass. They worked with other Brazilian musicians like Lenine and Marcelo D2 at different points.
What's left in the record is mostly that early period, the Rio start, the first album, and "Vozes" catching on. The rest of the story trails off in the existing notes.
