Pedro formed in São Paulo in 1994 around Pedro Bonifrate on vocals and guitar and Iuri Sanson on keyboards and programming. They were later joined by drummer Thiago Maranhão. Their sound from the start leaned toward experimental electronic music, which didn't always sit easily with critics when they released their debut album, 'Odisseia.'

They kept at it, and their song 'Ventos de Netuno' became a kind of signature piece for them, a slow, atmospheric track that stuck with listeners. Other songs like 'O Passo e o Chão' and 'Luz Na Escuridão' followed a similar vein of moody, textured electronics.

Their later albums showed some shifts in approach. 'Astronauta' from 1998 moved into more ambient territory, while 2005's 'Furacão' had a bit more rhythmic drive. They built a steady following in Brazil for this particular blend of electronic soundscapes and Bonifrate's distinctive vocal style.
