Pekeño 77 formed in the Madrid neighborhood of Vallecas in the late 2000s, a duo made up of MCs Israel B and El Sicario. Their debut album 'El Niño Guapo' came out in 2011, and its lead single 'Pull Up' with Snap Dogg and Rojas On The Beat became popular with Spanish youth.
Their lyrics often dealt with life on the margins, which brought them both attention and criticism. In 2013, El Sicario served a prison sentence for drug possession. Two years later, the song 'Si Te Vas' caused enough backlash to get concerts canceled and lose them a major label deal.
Other tracks like 'Rangos II' and 'Arriba Las Manos' show their collaborative style, working with artists like Cazzu, Neo Pistea, and C.R.O. They followed 'El Niño Guapo' with albums including 'Los Guerreros del Infierno' in 2013.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
