Their debut album 'Sol da Liberdade' came out in 1988, and its title track 'Liberdade' became an anthem for many in Brazil at the time. The song's straightforward rock arrangement and Lage's direct lyrics about freedom connected with listeners who were living through a period of political transition.
They kept recording through the 1990s, putting out albums like 'Pátria Livre' in 1991 and 'Som da Rua' in 1995. Percussionist Maurício 'Pincel' Barros joined in 1992. Other songs like 'O Tempo Passou' and 'Rosa da Morte' showed their range within a guitar-driven rock format, sometimes leaning into acoustic territory as on their 1999 MTV Unplugged session.
Their concerts occasionally faced disruptions from local authorities, which became part of their story as a band that played straightforward rock music with political themes.
