Pelé MilFlows formed in Rio de Janeiro in the early 2000s, a group of musicians drawn to hip-hop and Brazilian funk. They took their name from the soccer legend Pelé, with MC Cabelinho as their vocalist and songwriter. Their first album, 'Sintonia Geral,' came out in 2008, followed by 'Baile Funk do Futuro' in 2012 and 'Epifania' in 2018.
Their songs like 'Vem Cá' and 'De Love' with Gaab have a straightforward energy, mixing funk rhythms with conversational lyrics. 'Baila Mais' features Orgânico, Sóciro, Olívia, and San Joe, showing their collaborative side. The writing often touches on everyday relationships and social observations without much fuss.
They've kept at it through various lineup changes and the usual ups and downs of making music in Brazil. There's no grand story here, just a band that's been putting out records for a while, working with different voices, and staying connected to the sounds they started with.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
