Their song "Você Tem o Dom de Me Fazer Feliz" became particularly well-known in Brazil. Other tracks like "Ligue o Radio," "Lingua de Trapo," and "Alto Astral" show their blend of Brazilian rhythms with pop melodies. The band's vocal harmonies became a recognizable part of their sound.
In 2010, Pele Morena faced a plagiarism lawsuit concerning the melody of "Você Tem o Dom de Me Fazer Feliz," but the allegations were eventually dismissed. They released albums including "Pele Morena" in 2005, "Alma Brasileira" in 2007, and "Um Novo Tempo" in 2010.
