In the early 1990s, he formed the duo Casa Redonda with his friend MC Marcelly. Their song 'Casa Redonda' became a hit in 1992, and its mix of funk, samba, and soul found an audience. They released albums like 'Rap é Compromisso!' and 'Perifa Funk' through the decade.
Some of their lyrics drew criticism, and Pepê faced legal trouble in 2004, though the charges were dropped. The duo took a break in the 2000s but started performing together again around 2013. Songs like 'Foto na Parede' and 'Lençol e Travesseiro' are part of their catalog.
