PepeMan formed in Medellín, Colombia in 2015 with Andrés Felipe Martínez on vocals, Carlos Andrés Marín on guitar, José David López on bass, and Jose Luis Marín on drums. Their debut album 'No Me Llames Más' came out in 2018, featuring the title track that became their most recognizable song. That track, along with others like 'Canción de 4 Paredes' and 'Mi Flaca,' helped establish their presence in Latin music.
Their music pulls from reggaeton, pop, and tropical rhythms, sometimes with touches of Colombian folk. Songs like 'Destierro Adolescente' and 'Escombros de Una Larga Vida Pasada' show their tendency toward themes of relationships and personal reflection. They've worked with artists including Maluma, J Balvin, and Daddy Yankee.
In 2020, they faced criticism over a music video that some found racially insensitive. The band apologized and said they'd be more careful about cultural sensitivity moving forward. They've released two more albums since their debut: 'Te Espero' in 2020 and 'Amores Van y Vienen' in 2022.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
