Perna Leiga is a Brazilian pop band that formed in Campinas, São Paulo around 2015. The group started as three childhood friends, Marcos, Gabriel, and Rafaela, who began playing together with a straightforward pop approach. Their early single 'Ela Me Chama de Bruta' got some attention locally before spreading more widely.
Their music tends toward danceable pop with straightforward rhythms, heard in tracks like '#SóVai' and 'A Luz do Sol'. The band's 2022 album 'Só Vai' included the title track that became one of their most streamed songs in Brazil. They've worked with other Brazilian artists like Ludmilla, Anitta, and Ivete Sangalo on various collaborations.
Marcos handles vocals and guitar, Gabriel plays bass and synthesizer, and Rafaela is on drums and vocals. Their live shows are known for being energetic, though some listeners have found their lyrics and stage presence too direct at times. They've put out three studio albums so far, sticking mostly to the pop territory they started in.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
