Pernambuco e Croisinha

Pernambuco e Croisinha were a Brazilian duo from Rio de Janeiro who made funk music in the late 1980s and 1990s. Pernambuco was Lindomar Rodrigues Ferreira, and Croisinha was João Ferreira do Nascimento. They came together in the mid-1980s, playing local events around their community.

Their song "Funk Dos Amigos" came out in 1988 and became their biggest hit. The track's straightforward beat and direct lyrics connected with listeners, though some found its content too raw. They kept recording after that, putting out albums like "O Baile da Favela" in 1990 and "Funk de Verdade" in 1992.

Their music spoke plainly about life in the neighborhoods they knew. It wasn't polished or aimed at mainstream radio, which gave it a certain honesty that resonated with people who recognized those streets and stories. They recorded into the mid-1990s, with "O Mundo dos Sonhos" arriving in 1996.
