Perpetuo Power Metal formed in Madrid in 2004, started by guitarist Pedro Moreno and vocalist Javier Villanueva. They brought in bassist Alberto Castillo, drummer Sergio Peña, and keyboardist Marta Serrano to round out the group. Their first album came out in 2007, titled 'El Umbral de Los Sueños' after the song that appears on it.
That debut record put them on the map in Spain's metal circles. They kept making albums over the next decade, including 'El Legado de la Luz' in 2010, 'Sueños de Libertad' in 2014, and 'La Tierra Prometida' in 2018. Other tracks like 'En La Eternidad' and 'Sobre La Quietud' show up in their catalog.
Some listeners thought their sound leaned too melodic or relied too much on keyboards, but they stuck with what they were doing. They're a six-piece band that has stayed active since the mid-2000s, working within power metal's framework.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
