Live Like You Mean It

Get up in the morning say "God I think I'm ready to go

Anywhere you want me to

And talk to people I don't even know"

If my friends all think I'm crazy

I guess I have no friends at all

And when I tell them what Jesus said

It's like talking to a stone wall

Sitting in my history class

Can't believe what we're talking about

Some monk a long time ago

Watching gladiators screams:

"Are there none devout?"

Then he jumped into the arena

All the thumbs turned down for more

I can't help but wonder what I will be remembered for

Live like you mean it...

I often think about a friend who lives on the poor side of L.A.

And two people sleep on his porch

Because they have no other place to stay

Miss social worker thinks he's a sucker

To give them such a bed

I know Jesus is glad to have a place

To lay his head

Live like you mean it...

The big billboard says 'live up to what you expect'

And if your going to be happy

Then take all you can get

But you'll never be happy just by serving yourself

'cause when you get what you want

There is always something else.
