The voice behind 'Glory of Love' and decades of Chicago hits.
For the Chicago years, 'Faithfully' is a good place to start. His solo side is all over 'Glory of Love.'
Cetera's voice defined a lot of Chicago's radio presence in the '70s and '80s, especially on songs like 'Faithfully.' After leaving the band, he leaned into a softer, more polished sound that landed him a number one hit with 'Glory of Love.' That shift from rock band bassist to adult-contemporary solo artist says something about how pop music changed in that era.
He joined Chicago in 1967, playing bass and singing alongside Terry Kath and Robert Lamm. Cetera left the band in 1986 and released his first solo album, 'Solitude/Solitaire,' which included 'Glory of Love.' He kept recording through the '90s and 2000s with albums like 'World Falling Down.'
