Petit Rabbit's formed in 2004 with vocalist Aiko Tsubaki, guitarist Kyohei Ishihara, bassist Hiroto Makino, and drummer Kasumi Morooka. Their debut single "Daydream Cafe" came out that same year, built around Tsubaki's vocals and a melodic, drifting arrangement.
Ishihara left the band in 2008. The group released four studio albums between 2006 and 2012, including Sweet Dreams, The World is Mine, and Everlasting.
Their music video for "Daydream Cafe" drew some criticism at the time, which the band addressed by explaining it as a metaphorical piece.
