Pharacyde

Pharacyde came out of Los Angeles in the early 1990s with four rappers: Imani, D.J. Paul, Slimkid3, and Fatlip. Their debut album 'Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde' arrived in 1992 and included the singles 'Passin' Me By' and 'Ya Mama.' They worked with producer J Dilla and his production crew the Ummah.

After that first album, the group had internal conflicts and lineup changes. Fatlip left following their second album 'Labcabincalifornia' in 1995, which led to some public tension. They kept putting out records through the late '90s and early 2000s, like 'The Bombarding Society' in 1996 and 'Plain Language from a Traitor's Mouth' in 2000.

Their catalog includes tracks like 'Drop' and '4 Better or 4 Worse.' The writing tended to be articulate and sometimes humorous, with a sound that mixed soulful melodies with inventive beats.
