Piloto Mc formed in Mexico City in 1997 with Jorge Reyes on vocals, Rodrigo Zorrilla on guitar, Jorge Corrales on bass, and Jorge Avila on drums. Their debut album came out in 1999, and the single "Mundo Maligno" connected with listeners around that time.
Avila died in 2003, and the band released their third album the next year. Zorrilla and Corrales left not long after that. Reyes kept the name going with new players like Esteban Martínez on guitar, Roberto González on bass, and Mauricio Pérez on drums.
