Pimentas do Reino formed in Rio de Janeiro in the late 1980s. Their 1990 single "Pensando Em Você" became a hit, establishing them in Brazilian music. The band's lineup included Leonardo Netto on vocals, Alexandre Rocha on guitar, Marcos Lobão on drums, and Mário Vitor on bass.
They released several albums including "Pimenta do Reino" in 1990, "Nação Zumbi" in 1994, and "Nação Zumbi II" in 1998. Their music incorporated funk, rock, and reggae elements. Other songs like "Don Juan," "Crime," and "Saudade" became part of their catalog.
In the early 2000s, the band faced a legal dispute with a former member that led to a temporary hiatus. They returned with albums like "Nosso Tempo" in 2004 and "Ao Vivo no Circo Voador" in 2011. Their 2018 album "Humanos" continued their recording work.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
