Pip Pyle

Pip Pyle was a drummer who played in the free jazz group Delivery in the late 1960s, alongside saxophonist John Surman. He later co-founded the experimental band Seven Sisters in 1974, which included musicians like Elton Dean, Phil Miller, and Anthony Moore.

Seven Sisters released albums like "Sheer Violence" in 1975 and "The Wolf" in 1978. Their music drew from jazz and rock, though their experimental approach sometimes met with resistance from more traditional listeners.

Pyle's drumming had an unconventional quality to it, and he also contributed vocals. The band's song "Seven Sisters" gives a sense of their sound, not easily categorized, but with a certain restless energy.
