Piper (Japão)

Piper formed in 1992 with vocalist Chihiro, guitarist Akira, bassist Ryou, and drummer Kei. Their debut album that year was simply called 'Piper,' and it included the single 'Aishiteru,' which found an audience and helped them break through.

Their song 'New York, Paris, London, Tokyo' became their most recognizable track. It had a straightforward, catchy melody that connected with listeners in the mid-1990s. Other songs like 'Gentle Shower' and 'Summer Breeze' showed their pop sensibility.

They released several albums through the 1990s and early 2000s, including 'Cactus' in 1994, 'Pinch' in 1996, and 'Float' in 2003. Chihiro's outspoken views occasionally drew attention away from the music itself.
