Over time, other musicians like Luiz Caldas, Peu Meurray, Carlinhos Brown, and Macalé passed through the group. Their sound pulled from samba, funk, reggae, and jazz, with songs like "Da Canção" becoming well-known.
They eventually released it as "Axé Brasil" the following year. The band put out about fourteen studio albums, including "Nosso Axé" in 1988 and "Eu Sou o Samba" in 1995.
Their music often touched on love, social justice, and life in Bahia. Another track, "Devaneio," shows their blend of Brazilian rhythms with other influences. They were part of the broader Brazilian music landscape without trying to sum up their whole story in one neat phrase.
