Pitzan

Pitzan formed in Porto Alegre in 1994 as a quartet with Humberto Gessinger on vocals and guitar, Fernando Biral on bass, Paulo Gaiger on keyboards, and Duca Leindecker on drums. They played local bars and clubs for a couple of years before things changed with their 1996 debut album, 'Teoria de Um Sonho.' The single 'Um Dia a Gente Se Reve' became a hit in Brazil, which gave them some mainstream attention.

Their lineup has shifted over time, with Gessinger and Biral remaining constant. The band has worked with other Brazilian artists like Marisa Monte and Erasmo Carlos. They've put out several albums since that first one, mixing rock with pop and folk elements in songs that range from the reflective to the anthemic.
