Plano Certo Records formed in Rio de Janeiro around 2015, a group of musicians working with funk, soul, and hip-hop sounds. Their debut single 'Plano Certo' came out the following year and became a hit in Brazil. The band's lineup included MC Cabelinho on vocals, DJ Guga on production, Marcelinho da Lua on instruments, Pedro Calais on bass, and Rodrigo Pitta on drums.
They released their first album, also called 'Plano Certo,' in 2017, which featured that title track along with another single, 'Não Vou Parar.' A second album, 'Entre o Céu e o Inferno,' followed in 2019. The music drew some criticism about its commercial direction and relationship to funk traditions, but the group kept recording.
