Plenitude de Deus formed in 1997 around vocalist Amara Riva. Their debut album 'Louvores ao Rei' came out in 2000. The band's third album, 'A Ti' from 2004, gave them their breakthrough with the title track becoming popular in Brazilian churches.
Amara Riva's husband Sérgio Riva serves as music director and keyboardist. Guitarist Moisés Nunes and a bassist round out the lineup. Their songs like 'No Vale' and 'A Terra Prometida' follow in the straightforward gospel style they established early on.
In 2009 they faced plagiarism accusations over a song called 'Santo,' which they defended against. They've kept making music since, staying focused on their faith-based material without much change to their approach.
