A Brazilian group that mixed Northeastern rhythms, rock, and electronic sounds across three decades.
For a quick sense of their sound, try 'Dançando Ula Ula' or '59'99'. They're both good examples of that Recife groove.
They started in Recife in the early 1990s, naming themselves after a local post office. Their 2001 album 'Papo de Jacaré' got people talking, with songs like 'Dançando Ula Ula' blending regional beats with a looser, modern feel. That mix gave their music a specific place and pulse.
The debut 'Fora da Lei' arrived in 1999. Later albums like 'Receita de Samba ao Vivo' and 'Ofertório' came out as the lineup shifted, with Rafael Castro and Betão Aguiar joining at different times. They put out 'O Último Grande Baile' in 2019.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
