Poe formed in 1999, led by vocalist Ann Marie Calhoun. The band's debut album 'Hello' came out in 2000, mixing distorted guitars with Calhoun's voice. They followed it with 'Haunted' in 2001, which included the title track that became their best-known song.
That song 'Haunted' reached the top of alternative charts around 2001. Other tracks like 'Control' and 'Hey Pretty' also appeared on their albums. The band released two more records, 'Polarity' in 2004 and 'Delirium' in 2006.
Their sound shifted across those four albums, from the moodier feel of 'Hello' to more experimental work later on. They haven't released new music since the mid-2000s, but songs like 'Haunted' and '5 and 1/2 Minute Hallway' still turn up on alternative playlists.
