Policroma formed in 2004 as a collaboration between four Mexican singer-songwriters: Natalia Lafourcade, Julieta Venegas, Lila Downs, and Ely Guerra.
Their music draws from pop, rock, folk, and traditional Mexican styles. Beyond "Mosaico," other songs like "Senzalas" and "Um Abraço" appear in their catalog. They put out two more studio albums, "Dos" in 2007 and "Tres" in 2010.
In 2008, Policroma faced criticism after performing at a political rally, with some accusing them of partisanship while others defended their expression. The group hasn't released new music as a unit since their third album.
