Policy Of Three formed in Los Angeles in 1998 with three former members of Stone Temple Pilots: Robert DeLeo on bass, Dean DeLeo on guitar, and Eric Kretz on drums. They released a self-titled debut album the following year.
That album included 'Let It Build,' a ballad that got some radio play. The song had a haunting quality to it, built around Robert DeLeo's bassline and Kretz's drumming with Dean DeLeo's guitar work layered over it.
They were known for being somewhat unconventional in how they approached music and the industry, which didn't always sit well with everyone. But that debut record found its audience regardless.
