Pólis Rock formed in Curitiba in 1993 with Danilo Del Rio on vocals and guitar, Marcos Borba on bass, and Rodrigo Lyra on drums. They built a local following before their self-titled debut album arrived in 1999. That record included 'Era Você,' a song about teenage longing that connected with listeners across Brazil.
After bassist Borba left in 2003, the band went through some instability. Their second album, 'Tudo Que Você Sonhou,' took a more experimental turn that didn't sit well with everyone. Pólis Rock took a break for a few years before the original members got back together in 2007.
