Ponto Incomum formed in São Paulo in 2004, a group of musicians interested in how traditional Brazilian rhythms might meet electronic sounds. Their debut album 'Ésse Dois' came out in 2007, with the title track becoming a notable song about relationships.
Their second album 'Longe de Nós' arrived in 2010, and its lead single 'Triste, Louca ou Má' drew criticism from some who found its lyrics disrespectful. The band defended the work as an exploration of emotion. They kept making records, with 'Ponto Inexistente' in 2013 and 'Nação Zumbi' in 2017.
The group includes vocalist Felipe Salles, bassist Fernando Sanches, drummer Renato Massa, and keyboardist Thiago Guerra. Their music draws from samba, funk, electronic, and rock.
