Ponto Quattro formed in 1997 in Salvador, Bahia, with four friends: vocalist Márcio Victor, guitarist Guto Goffi, bassist Kaelzinho, and drummer Paulinho. They signed a record deal in 2002 and released their debut album that same year.
Their 2006 single "Te Ter Aqui" became a nationwide hit in Brazil. Other songs like "Por Quê Você Não Está?" and "Depende de Você" also found an audience. The band has released eight studio albums, including a live recording from 2005.
Ponto Quattro has worked with other Brazilian artists like Ivete Sangalo, Gilberto Gil, and Daniela Mercury.
