Ponzoña Musical formed in Buenos Aires in the late 1970s with Claudio Marciello on vocals, Miguel Castro on guitar, Roberto Raffo on bass, and Pablo Guyot on drums. Their early years were difficult, with their debut album failing to find much of an audience.
Things changed in 1982 when they released "Busca Un Amor." The song's melody and Marciello's delivery connected with listeners, pushing the band into wider recognition. Other tracks like "Cada Día Sin Ti" and "Por Amarte Asi" also became staples for their fans.
The band's lyrics, which touched on love, loss, and sometimes darker themes, drew criticism from some quarters. Marciello also faced personal challenges during this period. By the late 1980s, Ponzoña Musical went on hiatus.
They reunited in the 1990s and recorded new material. Their earlier work, particularly "Busca Un Amor," continued to be heard on rock radio in Argentina and elsewhere.
