Pooh formed in Rome in 1966, taking their name from Winnie-the-Pooh. The original lineup included Roby Facchinetti on keyboards and vocals, Dodi Battaglia on guitar and vocals, Stefano D'Orazio on drums and vocals, and Valerio Negrini on bass and lyrics. Their self-titled debut album arrived in 1971, and the single "Tanta Voglia Di Lei" became a major hit that established their presence in Italian pop.
Over the following decades, their sound shifted through various styles, from progressive rock to folk. The 1975 album "Parsifal" drew some criticism for its religious themes, but the band's popularity in Italy remained strong. Songs like "L'altra Donna," "Uomini Soli," and "Noi Due Nel Mondo E Nell'anima" became staples of their catalog.
Stefano D'Orazio died in 2012. After a farewell tour, Pooh played their final concert in Milan in 2016 and retired. Their music, including the live album "...In Concerto," continues to be heard on Italian radio.
