Archive material and source history
Porterlone formed in 2004 with Shane Phillips on vocals and guitar, Glenn Reynolds on guitar, Keith Clayton on bass, and Steve McClure on drums. They started playing small venues while working through the usual early struggles of a new band.
Their debut album 'Constellations' came out in 2008, followed by 'Lights of Home' in 2012. The song 'Coming Home (Orion, Lights Of Home)' from that second album became their most recognizable track. They also recorded 'Fake Reality' with Day Vanali and 'In My Head (Voices)' around that period.
Their music tended toward atmospheric rock with ambient touches, often dealing with themes of longing and connection. They kept at it through the mid-2010s, though the original lineup didn't stay together indefinitely.
