The Priestie Boyz were a reggae group from Kingston, Jamaica, formed in the early 1990s by three brothers: Gregory, Fitzroy, and Garnet Anderson. Their sound was built around soulful harmonies and rhythms that felt grounded in their community. In 1997, they released their self-titled debut album, which included the song '500 Miles Away From Home.' That track became a hit, resonating with listeners far beyond Jamaica and helping to establish their presence internationally.

Their music often dealt with spiritual and personal themes, as heard in songs like 'Lord Jesus Come,' 'Mother, Forgive Me,' and 'Lost in Ecstasy.' They followed their debut with albums like 'Represent' in 1998 and 'Yaadcore' in 2000, maintaining a steady output of reggae that blended soul and dancehall influences. The group's core lineup stayed consistent, with Gregory on lead vocals and guitar, Fitzroy on drums and vocals, and Garnet on bass and vocals.

In 1999, Fitzroy faced an arrest on drug possession charges, an incident that drew attention and briefly overshadowed their musical work. While he eventually cleared his name, it was a notable moment in their story. They continued recording into the 2000s with albums like 'Back to the Roots' and 'One Blood,' keeping their reggae sound central without major stylistic shifts.
