Prih Arantes formed in São Paulo in the late 2000s with Prih Arantes on vocals, André Vasconcelos on guitar, and Guilherme Arantes on drums. Their debut single "Feelings" came out in 2012, mixing samba, pop, and R&B. The album Alma followed that same year.
Thiago Arantes joined on bass in 2016. The band released several albums including Florescer in 2014, Raízes in 2016, and Vida in 2020. They also put out a live acoustic recording in 2018.
In 2014, Prih Arantes was involved in a legal dispute over the unauthorized use of "Feelings." Their lyrics sometimes addressed social issues, which drew mixed reactions from listeners.
