Prima Donna formed in Los Angeles in the late 1980s with Kevan McCoy on vocals, Kit Marshall on guitar, Michael Bishop on bass, and John Derry on drums. Their debut album 'King of the Broken Hearts' came out in 1989 and included 'Crucify,' a ballad that got some radio play and helped them build an audience.
They put out a second album called 'Spin Doctor' in 1995, but it didn't do as well. Derry and Bishop left around that time. McCoy and Marshall kept going with different musicians for two more albums, 'Love and Hate' in 1998 and 'Do or Die' in 2001.
Some people still remember 'Crucify' and a few other songs like 'Love Enough For Two' and 'Demoted.' The band's story is mostly about that first album and what happened after it.
