Print formed in Porto Alegre in 1993 as a quartet with Leandro Lehart on vocals, Beto Valle on bass, Patrick Laplan on guitar, and Fábio Fonseca on drums. They released a self-titled debut album that year, but it was their second record that caught on. That album, 1995's "Ainda Penso em Você," gave them a national hit with its title track.
In 1997, guitarist Patrick Laplan died in a car accident. The band continued, bringing in Marcelo Pitz to play guitar. They kept recording for another decade, putting out albums like "Além do Olhar" in 1996 and "Infinito Particular" in 2007. At one point, there were accusations that "Ainda Penso em Você" borrowed too much from an earlier song by Italian singer Eros Ramazzotti, which the band denied.
