Projeto 2B formed in Brasília in 2001 with Alexandre Alves on vocals, Jhonny Salles on bass, Vinícius Felix on guitar, Renan Oliveira on drums, and Guilherme de Sá on keyboards. Their debut single "Eu e Você" caught on quickly in Brazil, giving the band an early foothold. They put out albums steadily through the 2000s and 2010s, including Vozes in 2004, Impacto in 2006, and Refletor in 2011.
Their sound mixed pop, rock, and electronic elements, which drew some criticism at the time. They also faced plagiarism allegations that they denied.
