They released their debut album 'Megaphone' independently after record labels showed little interest in their mix of rock, rap, and funk. The band built a following through underground shows before their second album 'No Voo do Condor' in 2007 brought wider attention.
That 2007 album included 'Fingir Que Eu Não Quero,' which became a hit across Brazil. The song's melody and Guga's lyrics connected with listeners, though the band faced accusations of plagiarism for another track around 2010. Those legal issues lasted several years while lineup changes began affecting the group.
Original members like drummer Fabiano and bassist Marcelo eventually left Projeto 911 during the early 2010s. Guga de Paula remained with the project through these shifts, continuing to write and perform as the band's central figure.
