They released their self-titled debut album in 1985, followed by 'Maio' in 1987 and 'O Salto' in 1989. Their sound had the raw energy of post-punk, but with Brazilian rhythms woven through it. Songs like 'Apelação' and 'Cidadão De Periferia' carried their politically charged messages.
Prole.idem kept recording through the 1990s with 'Bete Balanço' in 1993 and 'Luxúria' in 1997. Their music never softened its edges or its social commentary. Tracks like 'Grito De Independência' and 'Ataque 115!' maintained that same intense energy from their earlier work.
