Pryce formed in the early 2000s in Salvador, Brazil, with musicians who had played together in a small town church. Their name, meaning 'son of the priest,' came from those church beginnings. In 2004, they released the album 'Vida de PrÃncipe,' which included the ballad 'Seu Amor.' That song became popular at weddings and helped the band find a national audience.
After 'Seu Amor' took off, Pryce put out more albums like 'Nosso Amor' in 2006 and a compilation called 'O Melhor de Pryce' in 2008. In 2007, lead vocalist Leo Cavalcanti was injured in a car accident but recovered with support from the band and fans. Some listeners have since felt the group hasn't changed their sound much, though they've kept recording and performing.
