Psychotic Reaction formed in Los Angeles in the late 1990s with vocalist and guitarist Kenny Hickey, bassist Tim Kelly, and drummer Mike Micalizzi. Their debut album 'All I Need' came out in 2001, and the title track became a staple of their live sets. The band's sound leaned toward raw, aggressive hard rock from the start.
Hickey and Kelly have been the consistent members through various lineup changes. Micalizzi left in 2003 and was replaced by Rich Bizek. They've released five studio albums, including 2005's 'Bleed the Sky', and songs like 'Blame Yourself' and 'Don't Give Up The Fight' kept their basic approach intact even as they tinkered with other influences.
Their career has included some legal disputes and internal tensions, but they maintained a following through energetic live shows. The music stayed grounded in hard rock without ever fully abandoning that foundation for something else.
