Puentedura formed in Madrid in 2006 around vocalist Jose María Alfaya, guitarist Pablo Calvo, bassist Alberto Rodrigo, and drummer Fran Cortés. Their debut album 'Disimular' came out in 2008, with the title track becoming a recognizable song for the band.
In 2013, Alfaya was arrested on drug possession charges, though he maintained his innocence and was eventually cleared. A few years later, in 2017, the band faced plagiarism accusations over the melody of their song 'Lo Que No Fue,' but the case was dismissed.
They released albums like 'Segunda Oportunidad' in 2010 and 'El Cielo de los Tontos' in 2015. Their music moved from acoustic beginnings to include rock, pop, and flamenco touches, with Alfaya's lyrics often looking at personal themes.
