Their name translates to "Pure Simplicity," which fit their straightforward approach. Their debut album "O Cortiço" came out in 1983, and its single "A Casa Vai Cair" became an anthem in Portuguese rock circles.
They followed with albums like "Pura Simplicidade" in 1984 and "Em Nome da Lei" in 1986. The band's lineup changed over time, including after drummer Pedro Penna died in 2003. They kept performing and recording, with later releases such as "Acústico" in 2004 and "30 Anos de Pura Simplicidade" in 2013.
Another of their well-known songs is "Clareia."
