Q.I formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1985 with Fábio Jr. on vocals, Nilo Romero on guitar, Zé Luiz on bass, and Márcio Bahia on drums. They worked in a pop rock style with Brazilian touches, though their early sound drew some criticism for being unconventional.
Their 1989 album 'Ombro a Ombro' gave them a chart hit with its title track. Two years later, 'Acabou Chorare' brought wider recognition, particularly through the song 'Tudo Outra Vez,' which became one of their most enduring tracks. They continued releasing albums through the 1990s and early 2000s, including 'Declaração de Amor' in 1993 and 'Letras' in 2002.
Other songs like 'Ambição' and 'Antídoto' appear in their catalog alongside collaborations like 'A Ocasião Faz a Canção' with Thiago Jamelão and 'Plebeu' with Gibe. The core lineup of Fábio Jr., Romero, Luiz, and Bahia remained consistent through most of their recordings.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
