Quadradoval formed in 2009 in Paranaguá, Paraná, with Leandro Paraná on vocals and guitar, Daniel Brissac on guitar and vocals, Rafael Bauer on drums and vocals, and Rafael Crespo on bass. They released their debut album 'Sobre o Amor e o Tempo' in 2013, followed by 'Paralelo' in 2017 and 'Desencontro' in 2021.
Their song 'Ainda que o pra sempre, tenha sempre o mesmo fim' became something of a signature track, with lyrics that touch on love and its endings. Other songs like 'Por Você' and 'Sentados no jardim' show their indie-folk style, often built around acoustic arrangements and vocal harmonies.
Some of their lyrics have drawn criticism from conservative listeners for addressing topics like infidelity and same-sex relationships. Leandro Paraná writes most of their material, which tends to be direct and personal rather than abstract.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
