Quality Control Music started in Atlanta in 2013, founded by Kevin "Coach K" Lee and Pierre "Pee" Thomas. The label built its reputation by signing artists who became central to Atlanta's hip-hop scene in the 2010s, including Migos, Lil Baby, and Lil Yachty. Their approach leaned on social media and digital platforms to connect with listeners directly, which helped establish their artists without relying solely on traditional industry channels.

Some of the label's notable tracks include "Pink Toes" with Offset, DaBaby and Gunna, "Frosted Flakes" featuring Migos, and "She For Keeps" with Quavo and Nicki Minaj. These songs reflect the collaborative, trap-influenced sound that became associated with Quality Control's roster. The label faced challenges too, like Pierre Thomas's 2018 arrest on drug trafficking charges and legal disputes with former artists, but those didn't stop their output.

Over time, Quality Control released albums such as Migos's "Culture III," Lil Baby's "My Turn," and City Girls's "Period," which maintained their presence in hip-hop. While they've worked with artists like Drake and Cardi B, their core identity remained tied to Atlanta's rap community and the artists they developed there.
