Quarteto Está Escrito formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1995 with Daniela Firme, Cezinha, Rubem Rezende, and Sérgio Souza. Their debut album came out in 1997 and included 'Veio Até Mim,' a song that became widely known across Brazil. The group's sound pulls from Brazilian styles like MPB, samba, and bossa nova, built around vocal arrangements that often feel intricate and layered.
In the early 2000s, Cezinha left the group, and they brought in new singers to continue. They kept recording, putting out albums like 'Dois' in 1999 and 'Três' in 2001. Other songs in their catalog include 'Tempo Perdido,' 'Cristo Está Voltando,' and 'Deus Vê.'
In 2016, their performance of the Brazilian national anthem at the Rio Olympics drew criticism and public debate. The quartet has released several live and studio recordings since, including 'Ao Vivo' in 2003 and 'Dez Anos' in 2015.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
