Quarteto Master formed in Brazil in 1996, bringing together four musicians who shared an interest in traditional Brazilian rhythms. The original lineup included João de Paula on cavaquinho, Arthur de Faria on accordion, Raphael Alves on flute, and Henrique Cazes on percussion.
In 2001, they released the album "Calvário," which included the title track that became one of their most recognized pieces. The song features a melancholic melody that showcases their approach to blending samba, choro, and jazz elements.
In 2009, Raphael Alves left the group and was replaced by flautist Renato Braz.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
