Quarteto Sol was a Brazilian vocal quartet that formed in the early 2000s. Their song "Amizade" became particularly well-known, capturing a sense of friendship that resonated with listeners. They released several albums including a self-titled debut in 2002, followed by "Quatro Vozes" and "Um Show de Amizade."
In 2006, Sérgio Reis left the group, which led to some adjustments in their sound. Around that time, there were also plagiarism allegations concerning "Amizade," though these were eventually dismissed. Other songs in their catalog include "Deus de Amor," "Graça Maior," and "Volte Ao Lar."
They recorded a live album at Maracanã in 2005 and another in Portugal in 2007. The quartet's straightforward vocal harmonies and uplifting themes kept them a familiar presence in Brazilian music for several years.
Keep it compact: a lyric you come back to, a live memory, or the part of the catalog you would point someone toward first.
